Matt spent more than 15 years as an entrepreneurial estate and business attorney, advising business owners and their families through growth, succession, incapacity, and major transitions, while also building and exiting his own founder-led firm. He founded COtingency after seeing that even the best legal planning rarely captured the knowledge, judgment, and relationships a business depended on to keep operating.

Laura has spent more than 25 years building relationships and working alongside executives, entrepreneurs, and founders across industries giving her a firsthand understanding of how successful leaders think, operate, and build. At COtingency, she leads strategic partnerships, expanding the firm's network of advisors and investors serving founder-led businesses.

Josh brings more than a decade of military leadership experience as an Army officer, where continuity depends on transferring context and decision-making clearly. He is also a Certified Project Manager and Certified Exit Planning Advisor. At COtingency, he builds the systems and processes that turn complex founder knowledge into structured, practical tools a company can use.

Russell is a technology entrepreneur with experience building AI ventures and software tools for founder-led businesses. He helped shape COtingency’s early technology foundation and now advises the team on technology strategy and emerging capabilities.

Steve has worked as a founder, attorney, general counsel, COO, and strategic advisor across companies at multiple stages of growth. He brings that cross-functional perspective to COtingency, advising the team and its clients on leadership, operations, governance, and the realities of moving a business beyond its founder.
